The 2011–12 season will be the 32nd season in the history of Eastleigh, being known as Eastleigh F.C. The club is competing in the Conference South for the 7th consecutive season, which started in the 2005-06 season following reorganisation of clubs in the 6th Level of English football.

A press release was released by the Board on 3 May 2011, where the club announced its intention to become a full time professional club from the start of the 2011-12 season. The future strategy involves targeting players released by professional clubs, and developing young, talented players by offering them a full time professional environment within which to work.[2][3]
On 3 May the primary shirt sponsors for the 2011-12 season were announced as Whelan Pest Prevention, a Hampshire based company.[4]
Matt Gray resigned as First Team Coach on 20 May 2011.[5] His replacement was announced as ex-Coventry City defender Paul Williams[6] on 2 June, who was to take on the position of Assistant Manager as well. The appointment lasted only 3 weeks when he was appointed as full time head of youth for Aldershot Town, a position he had applied for before joining Eastleigh.[7] The club announced that Kevin Braybrook had filled the first team coach vacancy on 29 June.[8] The ex-Southampton Academy Coach had switched roles from being Eastleigh's head of recruitment.[9]
Eastleigh F C were announced as full members of the Football Association on 28 June 2011.[10]
Eastleigh's troubles with maintaining a first team coach continued when on 14 October 2011, the club announced via a press statement that Kevin Braybrook had resigned due to other football commitments.[11] The position was filled by Shaun Wilkinson, who is to take up a player-coach role.[12]
On 22 November the club announced they had received 3 enquiries from parties interested in investing in the club, and one of the parties has submitted a confirmed offer of investment. The club has invited the other 2 parties to do the same, and will consider the offers on 26 November at a board meeting.[13]
Eastleigh were unexpectedly re-instated into the Hampshire Senior Cup on 25 November 2011. This followed a statement from the Hampshire FA, confirming that Aldershot Town had admitted a charge of fielding an illegible player in the 2nd Round tie between the 2 teams on 11 October 2011. This followed an official protest from Farnborough, who Aldershot had played in the Third Round of the cup, where another illegible player had been used by Aldershot. Hence Aldershot had been removed from the competition. The situation has been further complicated as it has emerged that Farnborough had themselves fielded illegible players in their Second Round tie against Fleet Town, which the club have admitted. Subsequently Fleet Town have been reinstated into the competition. Fleet and Eastleigh will now play a third round tie at the Silverlake Stadium in Eastleigh on Tuesday 20 December 2011.[14]
On 26 November 2011, following a meeting of the Board, it was announced that an offer for the majority shareholding of the club from Bridle Insurance Limited had been recommended for acceptance by the current shareholders, who are currently the primary sponsor of Oxford United.[15] The company is based in Witney, Oxfordshire, and is known for providing financial backing to Glen Hoddle's football academies. Chief executive Stewart Donald and chief operations officer Neil Fox will both come on to the Eastleigh board as directors, and their wish is for Paul Murray to remain as chairman. Part of Bridle's 5 year plan for the club is to get the ground up to league standard, by looking at financing a 7,500 all-seater stadium, and to get the club into the football league.[16]
The promised investment by Bridle Insurance has been immediate, with 2 new signings in early December, midfielders Ali Fuseini and Scott Rogers signed from Lincoln City & Newport County respectively.[17] This has been followed by the signing of ex-Eastleigh midfielder Damian Scannell from Dagenham & Redbridge on 6th December 2011.[18] Richard Gillespie has subsequently been loaned to Bashley on a months loan from 7th December. The club also confirmed their interest in Havant & Waterlooville striker Vincent Pericard.[19]
Player movements continued in December, when on the 16th December the club confirmed the signing of Mitchell Nelson from Bournemouth[20] , while young striker Andy White has been loaned to fellow Conference South side Dorchester Town on a three month loan.[21][22]
Concern was raised in December for the welfare of recent signing Ali Fuseini after the player was not heard from for a week.[23] The mystery was later solved when it emerged the player had been caught driving twice while disqualified, and has been jailed for 10 weeks.[24] Although Manager Ian Baird had said on local radio that the player no longer has a future at the club, this was before the reality of the situation became public, and Fuseini's future with the club is currently unclear.
Behind the scenes movement occured in December 2011 when Stewart Donald and Neil Fox of Bridle Insurance were confirmed as new Directors of the club, with the consitution of the board to be announced at a later date.[25]
After an initial one month loan move in mid-September, and 3 monthly extensions to the loan, Graeme Montgomery was released on a free transfer by his primary club Aldershot Town and so signed for Eastleigh until the end of the 2011/12 season.[26] The club also announced via the offical site that they have agreed terms and a fee for a new signing, which will be Eastleigh's record signing. But, as the signing cannot be completed before 1st January 2012, no more details are to be released until the transfer is concluded satisfactorily.
